DOCUMENT ORDER

Order a photo document when filenames are misleading

Use the visible file sequence and a small page plan to avoid sorting mistakes in an image-to-PDF document.

Camera names, download names and page labels rarely agree automatically. A folder can contain page-1, page-10 and page-2, or images whose capture order differs from the reading order. RSSheetPack uses the visible selection order, so verify that list before preparing a multi-page PDF.

Make a small page inventory

Identify each image by the content visible on it and assign the intended reading position. A fictional instruction packet might contain a title, setup steps, a diagram and a checklist. Do not rely only on file names when revisions or repeated captures exist. Open ambiguous sources and choose the version that is complete, upright and readable.

Adjust the selected-file list

Select the approved JPEG or PNG sources, then use the arrows to move files earlier or later. The PDF will contain one page per selected image in that displayed order. The tool does not interpret numeric suffixes or recognize a title page semantically. Keep the group within its twelve-file selection and file-size limits, and start with a small trial when checking an unfamiliar workflow.

Predict the finished page count

Four selected images should create four pages, even if one is an accidental second capture of the same sheet. Page count alone therefore cannot detect duplicated content. Review both the total and the distinctive first line or feature on each page. If an extra image is present, select the correct set again rather than hiding the count error by ignoring the last page of the saved document.

Verify a complete reading pass

Open the downloaded PDF and follow the instructions in sequence. Check that a reference to the next diagram actually leads to that diagram and that no step is omitted. Save the verified result under a descriptive name. Keep the source inventory alongside the originals so that a corrected capture can be inserted at its intended position when another version of the packet is needed.

Put the example to work

Open the tool, enter your own inputs and review the result. The choosing a page size for image documents guide explains the workflow and its limits.
