Choosing a page size for image documents
Use a standard page when printing
A4 and Letter are predictable choices for office printers. The image is fitted inside a margin while preserving its proportions. Empty space is preferable to cutting off important edges.
Use image-shaped pages for viewing
An image-shaped page follows the source proportions. It can be convenient for a screen-only collection, but it does not establish a physical print scale.
Check orientation and readability
Rotate or prepare the source image before packing it if the content is sideways. Open the downloaded PDF and confirm that small text is still readable at a sensible zoom.
Try the workflow
Choose A4 for a set of document images. Each image is fitted onto its own page, centered with a margin, without cutting off the edges.
